Regardless of where you sit though, the girl behind the counter will call out to you.]

So, what's it gonna be? [In a red leather jacket and kimono, she probably doesn't seem like she's actually working here, but ??? it's not like anyone else is asking, right.]

[it's not like akira is really any stranger to quiet, empty cafes—if anything, this might even be busier than even some of leblanc's busiest days.

so it's a perfectly good atmosphere as far as he's concerned; the cafe itself is quaint, the offerings seem servicable, and that's enough to compel him to want to sit down and see if the coffee is any good.

especially when he's being asked what he wants almost immediately after sitting down at the counter. shiki doesn't necessarily look like she works here, but... she's behind the counter? she's asking what he wants?

Shiki has no idea who or what it could be aside from the fact that it's dangerous, and that's just enough to put a spring in her step as she makes her way closer. Whether he tries to run, stays put, or simply doesn't even notice the murderous intent coming closer, Shiki finds him eventually.

For someone who practically radiates the desire to kill, her greeting is quite casual.]

[It's a good thing Shiki hasn't met Akimi or she'd feel like this kid looks....... Strangely familiar...........

No one special. [She says with psychic glowing eyes and bloodlust so palpable you can practically taste it. Don't mind her, she's nothing of interest!! But it's thanks to her eyes that she's sure this guy isn't human. Whatever he is, he looks tough to kill and dangerous. Perfect.] Can't say the same about you though.

[ALAS, his smile is not appreciated in this case. She might struggle to even feel alive without risking her life in a battle, but she's made her peace of going without the peace death grants a while ago now.]

And give up? I already saw what's in that "void," and I'm telling you no thanks.

[ He wonders now how she would turn away from the void despite having seen it. Fear and pain should be annulled completely within the abyss, so perhaps she had merely seen one of the upper layers of the void.

Still, he's not going to push it if she expressed her unwillingness. ]

That's fine. I'm sure you will change your mind eventually. [ Maybe he'll run into her again when she's old and dying. Most humans tend to think differently at that time. ]
