[You're in a cafe. Whether you have no recollection of coming here or simply wandered in by choice, it doesn't really matter. It's certainly quaint, the atmosphere warm and inviting even without that many customers there right now. There's a menu on the table with a wide variety of desserts and coffees, or you could simply take a seat up at the counter. Regardless of where you sit though, the girl behind the counter will call out to you.]
So, what's it gonna be? [In a red leather jacket and kimono, she probably doesn't seem like she's actually working here, but ??? it's not like anyone else is asking, right.]

[This is where I just start laughing at meta, I'm sorry. YOU'RE TAKING A WALK DOWN THE STREET, just a regular day in your canon universe because it's peaceful and what do you have to worry about, right!! Sorry that's about to all go down the drain though.
OUT OF NOWHERE, there's a girl swiping at you with a very dangerous, very sharp-looking knife. Her eyes glow unnaturally bright blue and magenta, and it doesn't matter if you haven't even said a word to her, she's glaring daggers at you. Here's hoping you were able to dodge.]

And so, after several minutes of negotiation, vague threats (from Mana), and some bribery, Mitsuru got the girl to agreed to wait for him at the little coffee shop around the corner.
"I'll get the most expensive item in the menu!" she threatened, in a final attempt to change his mind—to which the man only waved his hand and replied to get two of it if she wanted before disappearing into a sea of people.
A Ryougi doesn't make empty threats, though, which is why when she's approached by a (rather brash sounding, actually) waitress, she replies: ]
What is the most expensive thing you have?
[ Her eyes are still fixed on the menu, since she's trying to find the dish in question on her own. ]

[That's. Admittedly not what Shiki was expecting??? This girl doesn't exactly look like she'd have deep pockets, but then again, who was she to judge? (Admittedly though she does look around for a brief second to see if maybe there's a butler of some kind ready to pay. Akitaka sure did have his uses back in the day.)
Buuuuut that's not really her problem, is it? If this kid's here to irresponsibly blow some money on some fancy food, so be it.]
Probably the set meal. [She takes the menu from Mana's hands to flip to the very back where there's a very deluxe, very premium, absurdly fancy 10-course meal that a cafe of this size has no reason to have. Yet there it is.] You sure that's what you wanna go with?

Ah, yes please! I'd like to order one! [ The second one she can order when Mitsuru-san shows up, just to torment him more. ]
Does it include a drink too? [ And that's when she finally looks up to the waitress. She lets out a tiny, high-pitched gasp. ]

Do I look old enough to be your mom? [???? SHE IS SO LOST, who could possibly think she's a mom, let alone this kid she's never met in her life.
(There is something strangely familiar about her though, like in a weird pseudo deja vu kind of way. Her eyes seem almost familiar, but she can't really place it anywhere, and thus she lets the feeling go as nothing more than an odd, random thought.)]

[ That last part comes out muffled because Mana is quickly fumbling to cover her mouth with her hands. That was rude, wasn't it? But she can't help it, when this waitress reminds her of her mother so much. ... Down to that frustrated tone of voice Mother usually reserves for those closest to her. ]
I'm deeply sorry! [ She bows her head. ] You just... really look like her.
[ She glances up at Shiki once more. Sure, she's apologizing, but her eyes say Mana still can't quite believe this person here is not related to her. ]

[It's a joke, sort of. She can't really see how this kid's mother might look like her otherwise. Even when she tries to think of possible relatives, there's no one she knows who'd have a kid around this girl's age.]

[That's. Not what she expected to hear. There's something almost—not unsettling exactly, but there's something about this that makes her feel a bit cautious. She's aware that the way she dresses is extremely distinct, and that combined with the uncanny familiarity she sees in someone she's never met before...
Well, even Touko said her sense of intuition was something else, and it's telling her that there's definitely something weird about this.]

[ She's not sure where that question is supposed to lead, so she answers honestly. It's probably not the kind of information a little girl should offer so freely but, much like her father, Mana rarely distrusts people.
Especially when it comes to someone who looks and sounds so much like her other parent. ]

[In the end, it's not a curiosity she needs satisfied, and she probably shouldn't be asking an unattended child personal information anyways. As weird as it is, well, it's not like this is the weirdest thing that's ever happened to her anyways.

For a brief moment, she considers asking Mana if there's another "MANA." What better way to prove a direct relationship with the Ryougi bloodline than that, right? But she doesn't. For one, she's sure the girl wouldn't understand it. For another, whether Mana's telling the truth or not, she's not sure she'd want anyone else to inherit this. Her own feelings on SHIKI aside, she objectively knows that life is far easier without a dual personality.
She also considers asking who Mana's father is since really, there's only one person the role could possibly apply to if she's the mother, but—somehow, she feels that she shouldn't ask that. (She may or may not want anything confirmed about her future okok.)]
I'm pretty sure there's nothing you could do to prove something this crazy.

Is that supposed to be a challenge? Because she is most certainly not the kind of girl who backs down from those. Then again, a challenge issued by her mother (even a seemingly younger version of herself) is a bit of a delicate subject.
