who actually writes fic for their rp shit THIS LOSER RIGHT HERE THAT'S WHO
i'm sorry i just like ships okay
the following assumes a lot of things and takes advantage of a lot of potential situations despite the fact that there is no way all of them could happen in one continuous universe, this is fanfiction for fucking rp shit sue me, and these situations are:
with that said read...... on i guess.....................
01 – ring.
One day during an idle walk through the city, Minako stops to window shop at a ring store, and Josuke can’t help but look at the rings too, imagine buying one for Minako and sliding it onto her finger—before he spins around shaking his head furiously, beet red and trying to ignore Minako’s curious glance.
02 – hero.
It turns into something of a game, seeing who can save the other in a pinch first, but it feels safe knowing that they always have someone to watch their back.
03 – memory.
There’s no guarantee of how long they’ll be together or if they’ll even remember anything about this place back home, so Minako does everything she can to make sure her heart is filled to the brim with memories of him.
04 – box.
Back home, she keeps a box of things meant solely for gifts from friends, a collection of her most prized possessions; it just turns out that in Death City, gifts from Josuke take up most of the space.
05 – run.
Honestly, it’s not as if she’s had a bad day or anything, and there isn’t a special reason in particular for her to rush home, but when she thinks of Josuke, resting in his own apartment or maybe on his way back himself, Josuke greeting her with a smile as soon as he sees her or jogging up to her and giving her a huge bearhug as he laughs—she starts running.
06 – hurricane.
They’re in the middle of the desert they tell her, there’s no way anything like a hurricane could ever happen—cue exactly that happening, whether by natural means or a Witch she doesn’t care, but it ends up with her and Josuke running through the streets as fast as they can, him using the top of his school uniform as an impromptu umbrella for the both of them.
07 – wings.
It was a terrible idea no matter how you looked at it, but one thing led to another and the two were in the battle of their lives to see who could eat the most hot wings in one sitting; 120 and more wings with five glasses of milk to try and tame the spice later, it went about as poorly as you’d expect.
08 – cold.
Come wintertime Minako makes a scarf for Josuke, wrapping it around his neck for him and confident that it’ll keep him from getting too cold; of course, that also turns out to be the day she forgot her own, but luckily enough there’s someone willing to share.
09 – red.
She’s a regular teenage girl (for the most part) alright, so forgive her if her cheeks flush a bit when she remembers the sight of Josuke being shirtless; frankly, it’d be more of a concern if she didn’t recognize someone good-looking when she saw them, right?!
10 – drink.
“When we both turn twenty, let’s make sure to get a drink together; I know a great one called XYZ that you have to try!” she tells him, and it takes him half a second to start wondering how she already knows that it’s a great drink...
11 – midnight.
She asks him to stay up with her sometimes, not for too long but always well past midnight, as she keeps watch of the night sky during those hours (as he suspects she does every night, with or without him), and it’s not until she starts to fall asleep herself that he’ll finally be able to convince her that it’s time for bed before tucking her in himself.
12 – temptation.
It would be easy, she knows, to believe things will last forever, that she’ll always love him and he’ll always love her and they’ll always be together, happily ever after; it would be easy, but it would be a lie, and so she savors each smile and every kiss like it’s the last.
13 – view.
Minako’s ecstatic the first time she sees Morioh, ready to explore the whole place just after stepping into it, and somehow he can’t help but feel happy that the girl he loves is already so taken with the hometown he’s done his best to protect.
14 – music.
It’s the same result every time he does it, but whenever Josuke asks what Minako’s listening to she ends up hurrying to sit next to him, a smile on her face as she slides one of her earphones onto his own ear, head bobbing to the melody and excitedly explaining—somehow, he just never gets tired of the sight.
15 – silk.
She never really takes it seriously when Josuke says he’ll introduce her to the world of brand name fashion someday, not because she doesn’t take him seriously but because, well, she never really expects gifts for any reason, that’s just the way she is; that’s why when Josuke hands her a purse one day, the silk so soft it’s more like running water than fabric and the Gucci logo embroidered proudly in the middle, she can barely stifle her surprised and delighted squeal.
16 – cover.
With how tall Josuke is, he doesn’t even really need an umbrella to keep Minako safe from the rain; all he’d probably have to do is hunch over her and she’d be fine, but he refrains from doing so when she mentions it’d be more romantic to share an umbrella instead.
17 – promise.
She holds up her pinky expectantly towards him, and it’s not like he was ever the type to break promises in general, but somehow it feels all the more worthwhile to keep it if it’s coming from her.
18 – dream.
Everything is hazy and intangible in the Seal, and she has enough self-awareness still to know that she shouldn’t even have that self-awareness, but as if she’s in a long, long sleep, she dreams of him—of him smiling, or messing around with his friends, or doing badly on a test, of him living his normal, day-to-day life safe and sound—and it’s enough for her.
19 – candle.
After looking it up in a few magazines, Josuke becomes convinced that the perfect date with Minako would be setting up a romantic candlelit dinner in the moonlight... but it’s that moment specifically that the moon decides to drip a bit of drool right into Josuke’s hair, bellowing laughter as the boy tosses the magazines into the trash.
20 – talent.
He’s convinced that it has to be some kind of secret skill of hers, there’s just no way someone should be able to work over four different jobs all in the course of one week on top of working missions and still be as energetic as she is when they hang out!
21 – silence.
In the heat of an argument, they both make a bet against each other that they can go the whole day—no, longer than that!—without talking to the other, and both are too stubborn to just come out and say they’re sorry just yet; it gets boring though, and almost lonely because all they do is sulk at each other silently, and before two hours pass they blurt out apologies at the same time.
22 – journey.
Two teenagers spending their summer break together by taking an impromptu cross-country roadtrip with only a motorcycle and what they could fit in a single backpack to take along with them—probably not the most sensible of vacation plans, but it was hard to judge it otherwise seeing the looks in their eyes, most especially when they looked at each other.
23 – fire.
They go to the local summer festival in Morioh, playing games and buying candy, and he even manages to catch a goldfish for her; by the end they go to see fireworks together, and as Minako excitedly watches the display, goldfish bag in one hand and his own hand in her other, he can’t help but think that all he wants is for the days to continue as peacefully as this one.
24 – strength.
It’s easy to forget how physically strong Josuke actually is when Minako’s the one throwing most of the punches out on missions, so it’s only when he swoops down to easily lift her up one day, laughing loudly and heartily as she frantically put her hands on his shoulders to balance herself, that she remembers what was obvious all along.
25 – mask.
Despite her best efforts, Josuke can always tell when she’s genuinely happy and when she’s trying her hardest not to seem worried; he’s probably the only one who can, and she’s not sure if that makes it better or worse.
26 – ice.
Sure he knew Minako was upset over that senpai of hers being put into the hospital—hell, they all were—but the way she looked when she told that yellow-eyed freak that she’d actually kill him, the usually bright and sunny Minako ready to murder without so much as a blink and voice so even she might as well have been talking about the weather—it must have been one of the scariest things he’d ever seen.
27 – fall.
His sheer optimism and confidence in the belief that she and the rest of SEES will be able to stop the end of the world is a little surprising, and almost nerve-wracking in its own way, but his faith in her is what makes her grip on her naginata tight, assured—there’s no way she’ll lose this.
28 – forgotten.
The first time Minako sees someone insult Josuke’s hair is quite a sight, to say the least; it was like the rest of the world didn’t exist aside from the target of his anger.
29 – dance.
They spend more time watching their feet than actually dancing, a carefully choreographed performance of trying not to step on each other, but with her smiling face and her hand in his, what’s not to enjoy?
30 – body.
Minako can take care of herself, he knows she can, but every time he lifts her up or holds her close, he can’t help but think of how light she is, how fragile she feels in his arms; it’s almost enough to scare him, at least until it renews his determination to keep her safe even more.
31 – sacred.
She takes him to the shrine nearby the dorms one Sunday, and it would’ve been a perfectly pleasant trip complete with getting a fortune—if Josuke hadn’t lost a thousand yen bill after getting his and Minako’s hadn’t practically promised a failure on the quiz she took earlier that week.
32 – farewells.
It’s a freak accident that causes it, but one day Minako’s mp3 player ends up a broken mess in her hands, and you’d think she just lost her best friend in a car accident with how much she cries and refuses to part with the thing; it takes nearly an hour just to console her enough so that she’ll listen to him when he says that one punch with Crazy Diamond and it’ll be as good as new, and said punch later she practically leaps to shower him with thanks and kisses.
33 – world.
She used to have a hard time understanding the idea of a single person meaning the entire world—she treasured each and every one of her friends after all, and it was difficult to imagine caring for one that much more; but then she met Josuke, and she fell in love with him, and now it was hard to imagine a world without him in general.
34 – formal.
Frankly, she would’ve preferred punching Witches or blasting Shadows with electricity every day of the week than go through the ordeal of not just introducing herself to Josuke’s mom, but introducing herself to Josuke’s mom as his girlfriend.
35 – fever.
The whole thing is entirely too nostalgic, and not in a way Minako likes what with getting hit by a sudden downpour and coming down with her worst fever in ages; when it turned out Josuke got stuck in the same situation, she knew she couldn’t pick a better sick buddy to complain about the troubles of colds with.
36 – laugh.
The trip to California is a long one, and unsurprisingly both teenagers fall asleep in the back along the way; it’s when Minako wakes up though and sees that both of her kittens have somehow managed to paw their way into Josuke’s hair and stay there that she shrieks with laughter, clutching her stomach and all but shaking till the volume of it manages to wake up Josuke too, only for him to scream at the cats in his hair and start another fit of laughter from her.
37 – lies.
It’s a little weird, laughing and talking to Josuke like everything is fine, like she isn’t six feet under back in her own world, but it’s worth it to see his face light up with a smile, not a care in the world as long as they were together.
38 – forever.
Minako understands better than most that nothing—absolutely nothing—lasts forever, but that doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy every hour, every minute, every second she has with him.
39 – overwhelmed.
So, yeah, he probably should’ve raised an eyebrow at the term “maid cafe” to begin with, and he definitely should’ve expected what was coming considering how cute Minako is in general, but—oh, come on, how was he supposed to prepare himself for her not just wearing a maid outfit but welcoming him home and calling him “master” to boot?!
40 – whisper.
Minako’s friends weren’t kidding when they told him that she was pretty popular at school, and the moment she so much as gives him a hug, there’s already rumors everywhere; he can’t say he really minds though, and when he casually puts an arm around Minako’s shoulders as they walk, he can’t help but give all those dirty looks a cheeky grin in return.
41 – wait.
He tells her that he’ll wait for her, the whole ten years from his 1999 to her 2009, and sure there’s no guarantee that they’re even from the same world, who knows if the Minako he’d find would be the same Minako that he knows, and obviously things wouldn’t be exactly the same, but if you loved someone, you’d wait for them, yeah?
42 – talk.
For a girl who loves to talk about almost anything and everything, she’s surprisingly stingy when it comes to herself; it takes some badgering and a little stubborn questioning just for her to tell him when her birthday is.
43 – search.
Alright, so they’re literally worlds apart and as far as she knows, there’s no way to go hopping from one world to the next with what technology they have here, and not even Mitsuru-senpai’s android-building, Persona-evoking, Dark Hour-creating company seems to have any idea on where to start with traveling through parallel worlds, but as if she’s going to let something like that stop her from finding Josuke.
44 – hope.
It’s a long future ahead of them, with so many things to do and places to see, but most of all, she wants to grow old together, side-by-side and hand-in-hand—and he doesn’t see a single reason why that can’t happen.
45 – eclipse.
They make sure to discuss it only in the privacy of the apartments, doing everything they can to guarantee that no one and nothing can hear it and get ideas, but they come to the agreement that considering how neither the sun or the moon seem capable of closing their mouths and are scary enough on their own, should an eclipse ever occur they’re going to stay inside, lock the doors, shut the blinds, and pray nothing even worse can come from the two of them together.
46 – gravity.
The biggest mystery, Minako decides, is how Josuke manages to get his pompadour to stay in perfect form all day long.
47 – highway.
She nearly screams at first, having never been on a motorcycle and having never been on a motorcycle raring to go at seventy miles per hour, but it soon melts away into her smiling, arms tight around Josuke’s waist as she feels the rumble of his laughter through his back.
48 – unknown.
Alright, so maybe he doesn’t know for sure if he’ll ever be able to go back to Morioh if he goes with Minako to her world instead, but hey, even he’s not dumb enough to actually choose to lose the girl he loves and forget all about her.
49 – lock.
He’s as honest a guy as they come, and he makes it a point not to keep things secret unless he really has to; the only exception is when it comes to Minako’s Christmas gift, because it’s way more fun to keep that information locked tight in his head as she throws around as many guesses as she can.
50 – breathe.
Kissing Josuke, Minako realizes, is quickly becoming one of her favorite pastimes, and she tells him just that as she gasps for breath against his lips; luckily enough, he happens to share the exact same opinion for her, and he leans forward to kiss her again before she even has time to breathe twice.
